THE ACADEMY DIFFERENCE

An elevated foundation for early childhood

Little Wonders Academy brings thoughtful nutrition, qualified educators, structured learning, STEAM exploration and responsive care together in one polished early learning experience.

Thoughtful nutrition

We prioritize nutrition and dietary considerations so every child receives the nourishment they need to thrive. Morning and afternoon snacks are prepared from scratch with fresh ingredients and a balanced, seasonally updated menu. Children bring a packed lunch, and no nuts are permitted.

Professional educator practice

Educators follow provincial regulations, centre policies and professional standards while supporting every child’s physical, social, emotional, intellectual, creative and language development through respectful daily practice.

Purposeful STEAM learning

Programs balance Structured Education + STEAM in the morning with emergent curriculum, purposeful play, music, transitions and child-led exploration in the afternoon.

More than childcare — a private early learning experience

Our Calgary childcare program combines STEAM education, healthy nutrition, physical activity and preparation for the transition to school. Children expand their comfort zones in ways that are safe, secure and highly individualized.

Under the leadership of Director Aman Dhillon, Little Wonders Academy focuses on nurturing relationships, family communication and high standards for early learning, safety and care.

Behaviour is communication. Connection comes first.

We believe children learn best when they feel safe, valued and connected. Our educators use positive behaviour guidance, trusting relationships and responsive teaching to help children develop emotional regulation, social confidence, independence, problem-solving skills and a strong sense of belonging.

Children learn through relationships, play, educational materials and meaningful routines while families remain active partners in their development.

EDUCATOR EXCELLENCE

CLASSROOMS BY STAGE

Thoughtfully designed classrooms for every stage

Each classroom is designed around the needs of the age group, from secure routines and sensory discovery to communication, independence, STEAM thinking and school-readiness skills.

Seedlings

12–19 months. Nurturing routines, sensory exploration, secure attachments and early communication in a calm baby classroom.

Sprouts

19–36 months. Language, movement, independence, social discovery and life skills for toddlers.

Saplings

3 years to 5–6 years. STEAM, literacy, confidence, social skills and school-readiness experiences for preschool children.

A calm, connected Calgary learning environment

Our centre is conveniently accessible from Sarcee Trail SW and the 17 Avenue SW transit corridor. The team continually improves the facility and teaching practices so children can build life skills and self-confidence before their next step in education.

Children enjoy indoor learning areas with engaging materials and an outdoor play space with toys, bikes and interactive equipment. Active play helps them build coordination, confidence and physical skills.

SAFETY. TRUST. TRANSPARENCY.

A secure environment families can trust

Safety, cleanliness, supervision, positive behaviour guidance and transparent family communication are central to the Little Wonders Academy experience.

Cleanliness protocols

High-quality cleaning programs help limit the spread of germs, while educators teach good hygiene and diligent handwashing.

Security

Access to the centre is limited to authorized personnel and approved parents or family members. Children’s safety remains the priority.

Transparency

Families can stay connected through Brightwheel. Classroom visual monitoring follows written consent, secure access and centre policy: only live visual footage is available, there is no audio recording, and access is limited to the child’s assigned room.

CONFIDENCE FOR FAMILIES

Clear policies for confident enrolment decisions

The Parent Pack gives families a clearer view of our classrooms, curriculum, safety standards, consent forms, closures and next steps before enrolment.

Positive behaviour guidance

Behaviour is understood as communication. Educators use prevention, connection before correction, respectful language, choices, predictable routines and natural consequences instead of punishment.

Video monitoring consent

Classroom monitoring is designed for safety and quality assurance. Access requires written consent, provides live visual footage only, includes no audio and must not be recorded or shared.

Centre closures

Centre closures include 10 days during Christmas time, the 12 statutory holidays in Alberta, Canada, and 6 weekdays for Developmental Professionals Day, from September to September.

Learning beyond the daily program

Weekly extracurricular experiences add movement and variety to every classroom. Current partners include Jumping Jellies and Soccer Heroes, with a one-hour guided activity for each age group.
